A practical comparison

Which history tool fits your task?

A useful export, an automatic archive and a history cleaner solve different problems. Start with the job you need done.

For a useful export and a quick look back

HistoryOut adds a daily recap, title/URL search, domain filtering, preview, deduplication and chosen columns to its CSV, JSON and HTML exports. It stays free and processes history locally.

Compare with Export Chrome History. Quick Chrome History Export also lists native XLSX, CSV and JSON exports, and is worth checking if XLSX is essential.

For a long-term archive

History Trends Unlimited keeps a separate history database. History Plus also lists extended retention, backup and import features. HistoryOut does not replace that retention job.

For cleanup and broader management

BetterHistory lists automatic cleanup, deletion and broader history navigation. HistoryOut leaves your browser history untouched.

For an account data export

Google’s export tools can provide eligible Chrome data stored in your account. Available data differs from the local visits an extension can read.
